BAL SEWA
Coaching Assistant for Badminton
Bal Sewa is an organsation which encourages young people in sport and cultural activities.
They need a volunteer to assist the badminton coach who coaches young people aged 8-16. Also help with running annual tournaments.
The ability to communicate with young people is essential and a knowledge of the rules of badminton would be helpful.

WARNING ZONE

Warning zone Guides
The Warning Zone is an interactive safety education centre in Syston for year 6 pupils - aged 10-11 years.
Guides are needed to conduct small groups around the 8 set-piece safety scenarios, teaching them key safety and personal responsibiilty messages from prepared session notes and by using a variety of props and staged effects.
There is a minimum commitment requirement of 2 half days per month during school times.
Sessions run 9.30am to 12.30pm and 12.00pm to 3.00pm.
Applicants must be over the age of 18 and all travel costs will be re-imbursed and there will be full support and training.

LANGMOOR PRE-SCHOOL
Pre-School Assistants
This vacancy involves preparing activities for the children, supporting them in their care and learning.
Ideally 2 hours a week would be very helpful.
Volunteers would benefit from a good induction programme and they would get a good understanding of childcare.
Volunteers would need a good basic understanding of English and Maths and be able to work in accordance with settings policies and procedures.

LEICESTERSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
Master Composter for Leicestershire
The role of Master Composter will be to spend a minimum of 30 hours over 12 months raising awareness of the benefits of home composting, encouraging more people to home compost and promoting the sale of subsidised compost bins.
There will be training, resources and travel expenses will be paid.
The volunteer will need good communication skills and the ability to work with different people.
Some knowledge or interest in home composting would be useful.

DEVONSHIRE COURT RESIDENTIAL NURSING HOME
General Helpers
Volunteers are needed to help with various tasks from activities, escorts on outings, reading papers/letters to residents and shopping.
If you can give half a day per week on a regular basis so that the residents can get to know you, this would be most helpful.

A Wide Variety of Vacancies
The RSPB has such a wide variety of vacancies it is not possible to advertise each one in turn so please contact VAOW or more information.
They can offer anything from campaign letter writing, school talks organiser to farmland bird surveyors.

BTCV
Youth Ambassadors
Volunteers will be part of a team of "virtual volunteers" who will work together and with the volunteers near you to steer and develop BTCV's work.
You will be involved in one off projects like redesigning web pages, designing and testing new software or training packages, mentoring and consulting with other volunteers in your area and promoting BTCV through the media.
You will need to have regular access to a computer, email and the web, be willing to work independently, have experience of volunteering and be bursting with ideas.
Time to be given will be 1 day per week for a minimum of 6 months.

Volunteer Outreach Team
Volunteers will be part of a team who will work with their local BTCV projects and the wider community to get more people involved with BTCV. They specifically want to target people who haven't volunteered with them before or are from groups/communities that they don't regularly work with.
You will promote BTCV to other organisations and develop partnerships, promote BTCV through the media and organise events or talks.
This project is V based so is focussed on 16-25 year olds but anyone can apply.
Time commitment will be 1 day per week as well as 1 or 2 days training.

DEAFBLIND UK
Car Driver for Deafblind Lady
A volunteer is needed on the 2nd Wednesday of every month to transport a deafblind lady to her group meeting - 9.30am to 11.30am at Wigston Library.
Full training is given and expenses paid.
You will need your own vehicle and a clean full UK driver's license.
Most of their members communicate with clear speech so please do not be afraid to offer your help.
There is full support if required.

Companion & Guide to a Member of the Deafblind Talking Bookclub
This club meets once a month on the 2nd Wednesday of the month between 10am and 11.30am and they meet at Wigston Library.
Most of their members communicate with clear speech so please do not be afraid to offer your help.
An interest in books would be useful but not essential just a friendly nature is all that is needed.
Full training is provided and expenses paid.
Support is there is required.

Book Club Co-ordinator
Do you love books? Do you love to discuss your passion for books with others? If so this vacancy could be for you as someone is needed to help set up and run this new book club for people with dual sensory loss.
The club will meet once a month on the 2nd Wednesday of every month between 10am and 11.30am at Wigston Library.
The majority of the group communicate using clear speech so please do not be afraid to give this group a try.
You will need to be well organised, friendly, a good communicator and love books.
Full suport will be given.
